Walking into Peekskill's Bruised Apple Bookstore feels a bit like walking back through time. It is a bibliophile's dream.
The store, which was established in 1993, offers everything from out-of-print or rare books to more popular texts. In addition, you can find a selection of used children's books, CDs, records and movies.
Patrons can browse through the "outdoor" books and historical maps of the Hudson Valley that explore that part of New York's rich history.
The store offers at least 50,000 titles, with nearly 200 subject headings. There is no end to browsing; once you've stepped inside, be prepared to stay for a while.
