In 1963, Gerald R. Brown established the Brown & Powers Funeral Home in Canisteo. Jerry was a graduate of Canisteo Central School in 1959, the Simmons Institute of Funeral Service in 1961. After completing his residency requirements in in Rochester NY, He returned to Canisteo to begin his funeral service career. Jerry was recently honored by the Simmons Institute of Funeral Service with the Distinguished Service Award, in recognition of his unselfish dedication and commitment to the community of funeral service. Chester A Gosper IV, Chester joined the Brown & Powers Funeral Homes in 1997. Chet graduated from Angelica Central School, Simmons Institute in 1998. Raised in the Angelica area, and still residing in Angelica, has been working in the Hornell, and Angelica area since 1992. A New York State licensed funeral director, with years of experience can offer a variety of choices to suit your funeral and monument needs. Adam E. DuBois, joined the Brown & Powers Funeral Homes in 2008. Adam graduated from the Hornell Senior High School, Simmons Institute in December 2007. He was born and raised in Hornell and still resides there. Adam is a member of the Hornell Area Wind Ensemble. He has attended the Fountain National Academy in Springfield, MO. Adam's participation in the Academy is an expression of untiring devotion and dedication to the highest standards of funeral service.
