Job Corps is a free job training program for young people ages 16 through 24 administered by the U.S. Department of Labor. Job Corps helps young people confronting life or academic challenges receive skills training. Students who have not completed high school can receive job training while also work towards their GED.
The Center dirctor is Brenda Jenifer. Enrollment can be a lengthy process and there is almost always a waiting list. There are bilingual (Spanish) staff available for assistance.
In addition to job skills training, Job Corps offers basic academic courses in reading and math as well as courses in independent living, employability skills and social skills. There is an English Language Learning program (ELL), driver's education and advanced career training
