New York Seafood Council
The Hampton Bays-based New York Seafood Council, started as a non-profit in 1991, provides information on health, consumer concerns, availability, and harvesting of seafood. Membership includes 200 individuals and businesses involved in the harvesting, processing and distribution of seafood. Many of the local seafood markets and commercial fishermen are members of the Council. The Council's website offers ample details on the group's mission and members.
