The Brentwood Bay Shore Breast Cancer Coalition is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to research and education about breast cancer. Since its founding in 1994, the coalition has been actively involved in outreach programs, providing breast health information at various sites such as mammography centers, churches, health spas, and clubs. They also collaborate with other breast cancer groups to share information and work towards common goals.
As a proud participant and beneficiary of the LI2day Walk since 2003, the coalition's fundraising efforts support a program that provides temporary assistance and support to individuals undergoing breast cancer treatment. This includes financial aid for medical bills, housing costs, utilities, as well as assistance with obtaining wigs, bras, prosthesis, and lymphedema sleeves and gloves. Their mission is to strengthen the community by addressing the needs of those affected by breast cancer and promoting education, legislation, and prevention.
