Bloomingdale School of Music is a nonprofit community music school, which offers the Bloomingdale Music Access Project, a preparatory program for youths living in under-served communities in New York City. The school is supported by income from tuition and fees and grants and donations from individuals, foundations and corporations. In addition, it is supported by the New York State Council on the Arts and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs. Bloomingdale School of Music conducts private classes for various musical instruments, such as brass, guitar, piano, percussion, drums, strings and woodwinds. The school also offers adult and early childhood education programs.
