Black Veterans for Social Justice, Inc. (BVSJ) aims to serve as a safe haven for African-American military personnel during their transitions from active duty to civilian life. BVSJ lobbies federal, state and city agencies to address the needs of veterans. The agency also assists with securing employment, housing, physical and mental stability and education for these veterans.
The Quincy Street location is an ancillary office of BVSJ's headquarters, located at 665 Willoughby Avenue, between Throop Avenue and Marcus Garvey Boulevard.
