The Purchasing Department is a multifunctional entity that deals in the procurement of goods and services for various city departments. It is a part of the City Of Binghamton in New York, which operates various other departments, including building and construction, economic development, dog control, and parks and recreation. The Purchasing Department is also responsible for the management of central stores facilities, as well as the distribution of vehicle parts and janitorial, paper and office supplies. The department solicits bids and requests quotes and proposals for materials, public works projects and professional services.
