About: The Bedford Police Department is staffed by 39 sworn police officers and about a dozen civilians. It has a detective bureau, a dog control officer, civilian parking-enforcement officers and school crossing guards.
The department is also part of the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program, and it runs initiatives such as Project ChildSafe and Child Car Safety Seat Installation Program.
