Bayside Historical Society is located in Fort Totten off the Long Island sound breakwater, overlooking the Throgs Neck Bridge. This museum holds a historical archive of artifacts, artwork and documents from Bayside, Alley Pond and Fort Totten. The BHS's mission is to work with the community and local schools to promote awareness and preservation of Bayside, its neighboring communities and the Lawrence Family Cemetery. It features exhibits throughout the year and virtual tours are available through the website. The Bayside Historical Society building offers its spaces for catered and non-catered events; featured rooms include its ballroom, lounge, boardroom, dining room and refurbished library. Members receive a ten percent discount on tax-deductible rental fees. Membership, which is available on multiple levels, allows visitors to enjoy advanced notice of society events as well as free museum admission.
