A Town of Babylon beach permit allows you access to Cedar Beach, Cedar Marina, Gilgo Beach, Overlook Beach, Tanner Park in Copiague and Venetian Shores in Lindenhurst. Please note that Overlook Beach is exclusively for Town of Babylon residents who have purchased a beach permit. However, a town beach permit does not grant you free entrance into Robert Moses, Jones Beach and Hechtsher State Park or other New York State facilities.
Both residents and non-residents can gain access to all the ocean and bay beaches without a beach permit (except Overlook beach) by paying a per-day entry fee. This fees varies depending on if you're looking to gain entry on a weekday, weekend or holiday.
To verify residency in the Town of Babylon, you’ll need your car registration and a utility bill. Permits can be purchased at the following locations:
- Parks Department, Phelps Lane, North Babylon, May 12 - June 25, Monday - Friday 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
- Cedar Beach Marina, Ocean Parkway, May 14 - June 20, weekends only. June 25 - September 6, daily 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
