Carolina Holdings, Inc., was formed in 1993 as the holding company for CBC and its aquired properties, which soon generated over $1 billion in annual revenues and held the first coast-to-coast footprint in the industry. The name was changed to Stock in 2003 to reflect this national presence. In May 2009, The Gores Group, LLC, a private equity firm focused on acquiring controlling interests in mature and growing businesses purchased a majority ownership of Stock, which now benefits from the firm's operating experience and flexible capital.
