Merrick & Company received the 2005 Engineering Excellence Grand Conceptor Award for the design/build of an automated mustard agent decontamination system to remove and decontaminate chemical warfare mustard agents on the Aberdeen Proving Ground near the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. The company provides engineering, architecture, design and construction/fabrication oversight services. These services are utilized for mission/security-critical buildings, high containment equipment and buildings, civil infrastructure, biomass-to-energy conversion processes, geographic information systems and land survey projects. The firm builds solutions for federal, state, municipal, county, university, private sector and international clients. Headquartered in Aurora, Colo., the company also has offices in Colorado Springs, Colo.; Los Alamos and Albuquerque, N.M.; Atlanta and Guadalajara, Mexico. Merrick & Company was established in 1955 and became incorporated in 1959.
