History
The business was established by a veteran devotee of used bookstores who found himself in the midst of a fork in the career road. Started on a wing and a prayer, Downtown Books has amazingly survived for 13 years. The quality of the inventory has continued to improve with each passing year as personal libraries have been obtained and increased traffic has lead to more varied selection through buying, trading and selling. The owner likes to think of the store as an organic being that lives independently, with his role that of a concerned caretaker.
