The Capital Implementation Program incorporates the enhancement and administration of the physical and cultural development plans and policies of the City of Albuquerque in New Mexico. It was approved by the Albuquerque City Council in 1975. The program administers approved capital expenditures related to construction, replacement, rehabilitation and acquiring of public buildings and related entities. It is additionally responsible for the development and implementation of various public safety projects, including police, fire and emergency response systems. The program offers rehabilitation policies for the improvement of city s infrastructure, such as roads, drainage systems, and water and wastewater network. It also administers several upgrade projects for recreational facilities that include zoo, libraries, museums, athletic centers, parks and trails. In addition, the Capital Implementation Program coordinates plans in the areas of design and construction.
