Alphaville Video, formerly Albuquerque's go-to destination for foreign, experimental, independent, documentary, and LGBTQ+ films, closed its doors in 2007 after serving the community for over 12 years. However, the majority of its remarkable collection found a new home at the Fine Arts Library at UNM, where the general public can now check out films with a Special Borrower's Card, while UNM film students have access to the rare and experimental works for in-house viewing at UNM's Media Arts department.
Although no longer a physical gathering place for film enthusiasts, Alphaville Video continues to maintain its website, featuring articles on various film genres, directors, and themes, as a tribute to its loyal customers and a reminder to support local businesses and the joy of cinema.
