Safety, quality and environmental care are the core values that permeate the Volvo culture. Volvo Cars of North America upholds the Swedish car company s values in the United States. The division encompasses a network of approximately 400 Volvo sales and service centers. Much of the network is composed of independent companies working with Volvo as a business partner. Volvo s line includes the S40, which was named Canadian Car of the Year in 2005; the S60, which was European Car Magazine s Car of the Year; the V50, which won the Autoflotte Award for Best Import Sedan in 2005; the XC70, which Smart Money Magazine named Best All-Wheel Drive Wagon; and the XC90, which AAA Top Cars named the Top SUV over $30,000 in 2005. Founded in 1924, Volvo Car Corporation has been wholly owned by Ford Motor Company since 1999. Along with Aston Martin, Jaguar and Land Rover, Volvo is part of Ford's Premier Automotive Group. Volvo Cars of North America maintains its corporate offices in Rockleigh, N.J., and a customer care center in Richardson, Texas.
