History1978 must have been a good year for starting a business: Home Depot was founded and Ben & Jerry opened their first ice cream parlor in Burlington, Vermont. Graphic Image Inc was founded in November 1978 only one year after I graduated from Rutgers College with a degree in Mass Communications. I discovered my passion for creating typography and page layout while working at the Rutgers daily Targum newspaper's production department in a paid position where I earned much-needed living expense money. A position at Market Source taught me about small business as I was mentored by the smart and ambitious founder. Marriage and a move to Morris County led me to invest in my own equipment and start my own company serving graphic arts industry trade clients.
