Founded in September 2003 by a group of parents, educators and community leaders, The Bridge Academy is a private, non-profit school for students ages 8 to 18 with language-based learning disabilities like dyslexia. The school seeks to help students "bridge the gap between potential and performance."
Not only is the school certified by the New Jersey Department of Education, it is the only school in New Jersey accredited by the Academy of Orton-Gillingham Practitioners and Educators, an organization that trains and certifies teachers in a respected instructional program for use with students with dyslexia-related learning disabilities.
The Bridge Academy is located in a building behind Adath Israel Congregation on Lawrence Road (Route 206).
