Founded in the 19th century by Irish immigrants, today St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church—the fourth-oldest parish in the Archdiocese of Newark—has a vibrant, multicultural congregation. Sacraments such as Baptism are offered in English and Spanish, and the church also celebrates masses for holy days and Sundays. The parish hosts various events such as pilgrimages, retreats, Bible study and family nights. St. Peter's School, serving grades pre-K–8, is located across the street from the church.
