The Secaucus Board of Education, with its office located in Secaucus, N.J., administers the schools in the local district. It is supported by the planning of the Secaucus Community Education Advisory Council and sponsors and governs the Secaucus Community Education Department. The board has five schools that offer classes from grades kindergarten through 12, and a school for adults that offers various courses, such as technology, foreign languages, business, fine and creative arts, cooking and dance. Its elementary, middle and high schools offer courses that follow the requirements of the state education board, and core subjects include English language arts, science, computer studies, social science and mathematics. Parents are a major part of the education system, with numerous opportunities for school support groups and parent training programs. The Secaucus Board of Education encourages its schools to offer a wide range of sports in addition to membership in service organizations, honor societies, student government, publications and academic clubs.
