Design PhilosophyAfter years of developing an idea about architecture and design that finds inspiration in the everyday, Richard Bubnowski Design has expanded its efforts to include interior furnishings. During a twenty-three year career in the field of architecture, our design aesthetic has evolved into a soft modernism based on traditional materials and methods of construction. This ideal that has occurred in the buildings we have designed, has now emerged in the furniture we are designing. In many cases, the furniture line by RBD compliments and expands the built environments we create. Influenced by the work of Wright, R.M. Schindler, Greene & Greene, and Stickley, RBD's work consists of straightforward, innovative design with firm roots in traditional and early modern architecture and furniture making. We believe in making new furniture one piece at a time. Our designs are contemporary, yet the pieces in our collection have strong roots to traditional architectural styles. Through our furniture, we have redefined those traditional styles in a clean, modern way. Whether we are designing an entire home along the coast or a dresser to compliment an interior space, this has become the signature for both our furniture and architecture.From dining tables and chairs, beds, armoires, and dressers, we have developed a large array of designs for our collection.
