The Wayne Public Library has one branch, at 1006 Hamburg Turnpike, besides the main library. The Preakness branch is adjacent to the old Preakness School, which now also houses the Wayne Civic Center and the Adult School. Patrons can return books checked out at the main library at the Preakness branch, and vice versa. The General Book Discussion Group now meets at the Preakness branch. The group normally focuses on contemporary fiction. The Preakness location features the therapy dog program, where chlidren can read to the dogs in the library. For more details on the Preakness branch, see the website.
