The Port Monmouth Fire Company is station number six of the 11 volunteer fire companies that make up the Middletown Township Fire Department; this is one of the largest all-volunteer fire departments in the world.
The Port Monmouth Fire Company was incorporated in November of 1922, at a meeting at Port Monmouth School. It purchased its first fire truck in 1923. Presently, the company operates three fire engines and two support vehicles, including a brush fire truck. It is equipped to respond to a variety of calls, ranging from fires to carbon monoxide alarms.
