The New Providence Senior Citizens Center offers classes, activities and programs for adults 55 and older. The facility, which was once a bus depot, was donated to the borough in 1959 by the DeCorso family and remains a borough-run organization. The building includes a meeting room, kitchen, library, solarium, game room and small fitness area. Enjoy art classes, weekly exercise classes, organized crafting activities, bus trips to shopping centers and musical performances, game nights, educational seminars and numerous other learning and socializing opportunities. The Senior Citizens Center also works with outside groups and agencies to provide information to seniors regarding health care and assisted living. The center describes itself as a place that acknowledges and affirms the dignity of the older adult, and it welcomes qualified men and women to join.
