The Maplewood Municipal Court, located in the same building as the police department, tries cases involving offenses that occurred within the township's borders. According to its website, the court hears indictable offenses, disorderly or petty disorderly offenses, township ordinance complaints including weights and measures, moving violations (traffic), parking violations and DWIs (driving while intoxicated).
The court also offers the Maplewood Mediation Program, through which people can resolve select complaints and disputes without risking a criminal conviction for any party involved.
