Created by Ordinance of Township Council in 1953, the Mount Laurel Fire Department offers a range of fire protection, prevention and suppression services. Located in Mount Laurel, N.J., the department serves a population of more than 100,000 people in an area of over 22 miles. It employs approximately 90 volunteer and career associates, including a fire chief, captains, lieutenants and firefighters. The Mount Laurel Fire Department operates several fire stations that respond to emergency calls. It maintains a fleet of engines, ladders, pumpers, brush truck, and rescue and support vehicles. The department conducts fire inspections, as well as provides fire safety training sessions.
