The Millburn Fire Department celebrated its 125th anniversary in 2001, and serves the community in a variety of ways beyond fighting fires.
In addition to responding to calls, the department assists residents, who are locked out of their homes, have a flooded basement or have questions on proper placement of a smoke detector. It hosts community events, including an annual open house each fall.
The department has 47 career firefighters and 14 volunteer firefighters. They are led by Fire Chief J. Michael Roberts.
