The Middlesex County Utilities Authority is a public entity charged with the management of wastewater and solid waste services in Middlesex County in New Jersey. The services provided by the MCUA have a direct impact on the quality of life of more than 750,000 residents and businesses in central New Jersey. The authority serves to promote public health, protect environmental quality, and sustain the development and growth of Middlesex County by efficiently operating the wastewater treatment facility and the Middlesex County Landfill in Brunswick, N.J. Each day, approximately 325 trucks transport more than 2,200 tons of garbage to the landfill, which amounts to more than 690,000 tons annually. MCUA was established in 1950 by the Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders. The office in located in Sayreville, N.J.
