Michael E. Beams, DO, FACMQ, specializes in family medicine with a focus in sports medicine. In addition to his position at Summit Health, Dr. Beams is Associate Clinical Professor at Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, and he is Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at Rutgers University School of Medicine in Newark. He also is Associate Clinical Professor at New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in New York City, and Associate Clinical Professor for the Seton Hall University Physician Assistant Program in South Orange, New Jersey.
Dr. Beams is a sports physician for Kean College, Cranford High School, Millburn High School, Clark High School, all located in New Jersey. He is Associate Program Director for the Atlantic Health System Sports Medicine Fellowship Program. Previously, Dr. Beams was a team physician for the World Wrestling Federation, the New Jersey Gems Women's Professional Basketball Team and Roselle Public School System.
Dr. Beams says, "My love of medicine began when I was working to become an Eagle Scout. I believe in treating each of my patients as a whole and partnering with them to help them achieve their health and health care goals."
A fellow of the American College of Medical Quality, Dr. Beams is a diplomate of the National Board of Examiners for Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons and American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, American Society for Sports Medicine, Union County Osteopathic Medical Society, American Society for Sports Medicine, and Cranford New Jersey Board of Health. Dr. Beams is Past President of the Union County Osteopathic Medical Society and Former Secretary of the Medical Inter-insurance Exchange of New Jersey.
When he is not working with his patients, Dr. Beams enjoys golf, raising orchids, and playing guitar.
