The Livingston Township Engineering Division is part of the Livingston Public Works Department and performs a variety of services. It is responsible for drawing up plans and specifications for public works improvements and new construction, and supervises and inspects these projects. The Engineering Division also creates and keeps maps, plans, specifications, surveys and operating records for all township-controlled property, facilities and works.
The Township Engineer serves as the Planning Board Engineer, inspecting and approving any improvements required for real estate developments and site plans. The Engineering Division also works with other township bodies, providing engineering advice as needed, providing direction and supervision for the division of Construction and Maintenance, and providing engineering reviews for the Building Department. The Division also administers the Livingston Flood Hazard Control Ordinance and Stormwater Management Regulations and Program.
