Kenneth A. Remsen, MD, FACS, specializes in disorders of the ears, nose, and throat, with particular interest in conditions affecting the nose and sinuses, head and neck tumors and diseases of the thyroid and parathyroid glands. Before joining Summit Health, Dr. Remsen, practiced privately with Ear, Nose, Throat and Facial Plastic Surgeons, PA, in Riverdale, New Jersey. He was a ringside physician for the New Jersey State Athletic Control Board for over 25 years and is a consulting otolaryngologist for Clinica Esperanza, a medical mission clinic in Roatan, Honduras. Dr. Remsen is Clinical Assistant Professor of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark.Dr. Remsen is Attending Otolaryngologist at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains, New Jersey. He is Former Chairman in the Department of Otolaryngology and Former Medical Director of the Ambulatory Surgery Center and Former Chairman in the Department of Otolaryngology at Chilton Memorial Hospital. Dr. Remsen has been Chairman of the Laser Surgery Committee and Ambulatory Surgery Committee and a member of the Performance Review Committee, Executive Committee, and Medical Liaison Committee at Chilton Memorial Hospital. He has been an attending otolaryngologist for the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey - University Hospital in Newark, and he has been a member of the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Residency Education Committee.Dr. Remsen is a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, American College of Surgeons, American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and American Head and Neck Surgeons. He is a member of the New Jersey Medical Society, New Jersey Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology, American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, and American Association of Professional Ringside Physicians. He is the coauthor of articles and abstracts on a wide range of topics in otolaryngology - head and neck surgery and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, which are published in prestigious, peer-reviewed scientific journals such as Journal of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, Laryngoscope, and Ear, Nose, and Throat Journal. He has delivered local, regional, national, and international invited presentations in his field.Dr. Remsen believes it is important for his patients to understand their medical disorders as well as all treatment options so that they can have an active role in decisions about treatment.When he is not at work, Dr. Remsen is actively involved with his family and he travels as frequently as time allows. To his credit, Dr. Remsen also continues to volunteer twice yearly at Clinica Esperanza, where he has been practicing since 2006. He says, "Giving back is the most rewarding of life's experiences."
