HistoryIn 1981, seven-year old Emmanuel Vizzoni was diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma. His parents, Susan and Joseph Vizzoni, experienced the enormous emotional and financial hardships that families endure when a child is diagnosed with cancer. In 1983, two years after Emmanuel's death, the Vizzoni's established the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation (ECF) to assist other families experiencing the trauma of childhood cancer They focused on what they desperately needed while enduring this ordeal. They felt they had no one to turn to - to talk to. For the past 34 years, ECF has lovingly assisted over 2,000 families to date, free of charge, and with no regard to race, creed or socioeconomic statusSpecialtiesECF provides NJ families faced with the crisis of pediatric cancer a place to turn for comfort and support through professional in-home counselling and a uniquely tailored package of assistance.
