The Jersey City Department of Public Works is responsible for the maintenance and repair of motorized equipment, roads, city-owned buildings, and traffic signals and signage. The department has a parks and Forestry division that works to maintain parks and playgrounds, as well as offers grass cutting and trimming, repair and playground equipment installation solutions. Its division of buildings and streets is responsible for the maintenance of court houses, libraries, parks, municipal facilities, and police and fire stations. The Jersey City Department of Public Works also manages a division of neighborhood improvement districts. The department is governed by City of Jersey City in New Jeresey.
