The Jain Samaj of USA (JSOU) was founded in 1971 with the aim of bringing together the Mevada Samaj community who had recently migrated to America. Over the years, the Samaj has grown rapidly and now has hundreds of registered families as members, working towards integrating traditional Jain values and religion into American culture.
The Jain Samaj of USA is home to the first completely Digambar Jain Temples outside of India. The temple's focus is on incorporating the ancient beliefs of Jainism into the daily lives of its followers, emphasizing non-violence and renunciation of material possessions as a means to attain eternal peace. With 11 pratimas (statues) including Parshwanath, Mahavirswami, and Adinath, the temple provides a space for worshipers to connect with the Jain religion and strive towards self-realization.
