The Saint Thomas More Knights of Columbus is a local chapter of the Knights of Columbus that is associated with Saint Andrew's Roman Catholic Church in Westwood and St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Hillsdale. The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic fraternal men's organization that has both a social aspect and a large charitable component. With 270 members, the Westwood council offers scholarships; works with the homeless, battered women's shelters and crisis pregnancy centers; gives money to the Teaneck Armory food bank; and hands out Shop Rite gift cards to needy individuals in the Pascack Valley. On the social side, the Knights of Columbus holds events for members on holidays such as Columbus Day, Christmas and Halloween. There is also a softball team and other events like pig roasts and Super Bowl parties. Members meet the first and third Thursday of the month.
