The Human Needs Food Pantry is a non-profit independent charitable organization first established in 1982. Its mission is to provide food, clothing, and other services to people in need who live not only in Montclair, but also in other neighboring communities in Essex County. The organization serves more than 434 families per month.
Executive Director Deanna London said that the group does use volunteers and is currently in need of people to work in the clothing room. The group does not need anyone at this time to help with the grocery service.
The organization provides groceries for families to take home and emphasizes that it is not a soup kitchen. If anyone would like to learn more please call the executive director between 8:30am and 2pm on any Tuesday or Thursday.
In addition to food and clothing donations, the organization also accepts monetary donations. Checks can be made payable to the Human Needs Food Pantry and mailed to 9 Label Street, Montclair, 07042.
