The Hopatcong Police Department works to prevent, detect and investigate criminal activities through the enforcement of local, state and federal laws. It operates K-9, records and traffic units. The Hopatcong Police Department has a community emergency response team that educates citizens about disaster preparedness and provides training in fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and disaster medical operations.
