History
Hillcrest Orchard and Dairy has been known for about 12 years for our U-pick apple orchard, freshly pressed apple cider, and fluffy apple cider doughnuts. It is owned by the Cuneo Family and run with the help of their wonderful employees. Throughout the fall, families visit for NJ apple Orchard experience. Take our hayride only a short distance up the hill to our orchard where you will be able to fill your baskets with over 12 varieties of apples. When you have finished picking, come taste our warm apple cider doughnuts. You'll be able to wash them down with our freshly-pressed apple cider.
Specialties
We have always had our dairy cows, but just recently set up a small-batch cheese facility. We pasteurize the milk from our herd of 60 Jersey Cows to make all types of fresh and aged Italian-style cheeses. The Jersey Cows are known for the richness of their milk which works very well for the fresh Mozzarella and Ricotta cheese we are making. Our fresh Mozzarella and Ricotta are not what many people are used to tasting if compared to store bought cheese. We are making it the old fashioned artisan way as they do in Southern Italy. We have built a cave on the farm to store and age our Provolone-style cheese. The ground helps maintain the right temperature and humidity to age our cheese.
