The Haddon Fire Co. No. 1 is the second-oldest volunteer fire department in the United States, dating back to March 8, 1764, when a group of 26 local property owners banded together to form the group.
Each year, the fire department responds to approximately 500-600 fire alarms. The department operates one rescue/pumper, two fire pumpers and one 100-foot aerial truck, in addition to a command vehicle and a utility vehicle.
Volunteers are always needed. To apply, contact Joe Walls at 856-429-4308, or stop by the firehouse.
