The Foundation for Diabetes Research (FDR) is committed to finding a cure for diabetes and to preventing severe complications of the condition. Founded in 1999, FDR raises money to fund research programs, primarily in Northern Jersey. Grant recipients are selected through a peer review process.
FDR generates money for research through membership donations and annual fundraisers, including a 50-50 raffle and educational meeting in the spring, a golf outing in August, and the "Harvest for Hope" fashion show and dinner in October. FDR welcomes volunteers to help with mailings and office work, and to serve on its Membership, Golf Outing, Fashion Show and Ad Journal committees.
