Incorporated in 1909, the Family Service Association is a private, nonprofit agency that serves more than 18,500 children and adults annually. The agency offers group counseling services for mental health and substance abuse issues. It provides independent living, family preservation, case management and eye screening services. The Family Service Association also publishes a newsletter. The agency offers education assistance options, as well as organizes recreational and cultural activities and excursions for children. The agency is a member of the United Way of Atlantic County and the Alliance for Children and Families. It is accredited by the Council on Accreditation. The agency is licensed by the New Jersey Division of Mental Health Services. The Family Service Association operates several community centers.
