Founded in 1858, the Rahway Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency. It provides proactive professional police services and works with the community members to maintain order and peace. The department has more than 80 sworn law enforcement officers. The Rahway Police Department s detective bureau solves crime cases, apprehends suspects, identifies and retrieves evidences and recovers stolen property. Its special investigation unit conducts investigations into the illegal use and distribution of controlled dangerous substances. The department s records bureau assists the police in obtaining copies of accidents reports and coordinates all criminal and traffic warrants with the municipal courts.
