The Election Law Enforcement Commission works to administer the New Jersey Campaign Contributions and Expenditures Reporting Act, the Gubernatorial, Legislative Disclosure Statement Act, and Legislative and Governmental Process Activities Disclosure Act. Established in 1973, it monitors the campaign financing of elections in New Jersey. The commission also supports the law requiring candidates for governorship and legislature to make personal finances public prior to elections. The Election Law Enforcement Commission produces numerous analytical data sheets on campaign financing and political parties. It additionally produces a series of white papers, annual reports, bibliographies, guidebooks, public financing reports and lobbying publications. The commission is located in Trenton, N.J.
