I was just 13 years old when my fierce determined Mother decided to open the first GORDO location in Passaic, without any restaurant experience just her own recipes and of course strong determination, she launched El Gordo in 1996. Growing up in the restaurant industry I always knew being an entrepreneur was in my blood! After graduating college, I joined a manufacturing retail company in their Management training program. There, I developed my skills from the ground up, eventually becoming a General manager, campus recruiter and lead Sales Trainer. However in 2012, I got the opportunity to open my very own restaurant, considering it was a great location, even better price.. I emptied out my 401K, left a growing reputable career and took the risk of becoming my own boss! 4 years later, this is my second location and I'm so blessed to have the opportunity to do what I love! For over 20 years we have established ourselves a staple in the Peruvian Community. We offer our customers authentic Traditional Peruvian Cuisine and we have a GREEN SAUCE that's known to bring all the boys to the yard.
