His research has been published in prestigious scientific journals such as Nature Medicine, The Journal of Clinical Investigation, Hepatology, and the Journal of Immunology. In 2009, he was recipient of the Chairman's Award for excellence in basic science research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, New York. In 2013, Dr. Bamboat was awarded with the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), Young Investigator Award for research on esophageal and stomach cancer.Dr. Bamboat is a member of the American College of Surgeons, the Society of Surgical Oncology, and the American Association of Cancer Research and Oncology Society of New Jersey. He was recently elected to the board of advisors for the American Cancer Society, Northwest New Jersey Chapter."I believe in getting to know each patient and their particular cancer and educating them about their illness and discussing the pros and cons of various treatment options," says Dr. Bamboat. "I believe in a team approach to treating cancer such that each patient is evaluated by a multidisciplinary group of cancer experts in order to provide the highest level of care."Dr. Bamboat is a member of a medical mission team that travels each summer to South America to perform volunteer surgery on the underserved local population. When he is not working with patients, Dr. Bamboat enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family.
