In 1975, my husband Abe and I bought Community Nursery School and the house where it was located in Rockaway Township. For 25 years our family lived in the house and I operated the Community Nursery School. During this time, Abe was a public school teacher in Parsippany, New Jersey. In 1989, Little Learner Academy was my dream that turned into reality. This dream has evolved into two child care centers, one in Rockaway, and one in Budd Lake, New Jersey.Abe and I have three grown children: Jason, Scott, & Marci. Jason and Scott work for Little Learner Academy and Marci is a Rockaway Township Police Officer. Abe and I have 4 grandsons, who are the light of our lives. Ryan and Drew, Justin and Max. Each of our sons and their wives has two sons.I am the past president of the New Jersey Child Care Association and past Board of Directors member for the National Child Care Association. In 1998 I was named New Jersey Small Business Person of the Year. I was a member of the Rockaway Township Fire Department for 18 years and was a member of the Rockaway Township Council for 12 1/2 years. I am a Past-President of the Rockaway Rotary Club. I consider myself a very lucky person. I look forward to work each day because I love what I am doing. In my spare time, I play with my grandsons, dabble in politics, take Tai Chi classes, and love to read.Abe is retired from teaching after 33 years and is now working at Little Learner Academy full time. Abe is a past president of the Rockaway Lions Club, a past member of the Rockaway Township fire department for 11 years, and was the president of the Mt. Olive Rotary Club. Abe is our back up bus driver and develops the curriculum for all of our children. He does in-service training and is an educational resource for our centers. In his spare time, he plays with his grandchildren, bowls, plays racquetball and reads.Scott is the director and Jason is the business administrator. Scott in his spare time, is Past-President of the Rockaway Rotary Club, bowls, participates in Fantasy football, volunteers in the Rockaway Township Fire Department, spends time with his family, and coaches his son's football team.Jason, who just received his Master's degree in Business, is past President of the Whippany Rotary Club, reads, spends time with his family, and coaches his son's soccer and hockey team.Marci is a Rockaway Township police officer. In her spare time she helps out at Little Learner Academy by driving the bus. Marci is a member of the Rockaway Township Fire Department and is an EMT.
