The Cranford Police Department has over 50 law enforcement officers and 10 civilian communication officers. The department is split into two main divisions. The largest division, which is the patrol division, is often seen in Cranford as it focuses on traffic enforcement, preventative patrol and initial criminal investigations. All patrol officers are trained in first aid and emergency lifesaving techniques. Officers patrol Cranford by police car, motorcycle, bicycle and scooter.
The second, investigative division takes off where the patrol division ends. Detectives process crime scenes, interview suspects, witnesses and victims and follow leads.
