No base. Tiny roots caused all that damage.

Fred says the roots causing this are 1 foot below.... ummm I don't think so.. 1" below.

No base installed. Not even 1/2". Asphalt directly on top of dirt and acorns. Without a base, those tiny roots caused that buckling.
