Cardiovascular Research Institute of Southern California (CVRI) is a nationally prominent tertiary clinical research facility. Research Institute was initiated in 1980 as a section of Cardiovascular Medical Group of Southern California (CVMG). In 1995 affiliates from all over Southern California joined the effort. Subsequently the Pulmonary Research Institute (PRI) of Southern California, the Neurological Research Institute of Southern California (NRI), and the Kidney and Metabolic Research Institute of Southern California (KMI) were formed. These institutes are joined together as Access Clinical Trials (ACT). The physicians of ACT are internationally recognized authorities in Cardiology, Pulmonary, Neurology and Renal specialties. The goal of ACT is to establish better treatments using the latest modalities available through controlled trials monitored by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) and Institutional Review Boards (IRB). The research programs are supported by pharmaceutical companies, government agencies, universities and private sources. The results of the research trials have been presented at the major national meetings and published in internationally recognized, peer reviewed journals. Access Clinical Trials (ACT) utilizes innovative treatments and provides state of the art personalized care. We evaluate patients referred by other physicians, hospitals, university centers or self-referred patients.
